Private Workshops on the South Church Campus

To request a private workshop, write to: forestfolk.ny@gmail.com

Manse Garden Volunteer Days (ongoing free event, all are welcome)

When: Fridays 4-5pm, April 19 until November. Cancelled in case of rain, high winds, thunderstorms, and temperature extremes.

Where: Manse Garden, located behind the Manse Building (363 Broadway, Dobbs Ferry 10522), on the South Church campus. Public transportation is encouraged and it's about a 5 min walk from the Cedar @ Main St stop of Bee-Line bus routes 0001 and 0006, or a 15 min hilly walk from Dobbs Ferry Metro-North station. If you must drive, please carpool and use street parking on Broadway.

Who & What: Join us in volunteering at the Manse Garden. All ages are welcome. Those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. This is a good opportunity for children to learn by observing and pitching in alongside their family and other community members. An outdoor and hands-on learning experience. Practice organic gardening and be a part of the local food movement. Spring 2024 activities are expected to include designing garden layout, improving the fencing and netting, building compost, removing invasive plants, adding artwork, watering, growing oyster mushrooms, seed saving, and sowing native plant seeds. We welcome donations of the following used items: cardboard and newspaper (please remove glossy ink, tape, glue, staples). There is a donation jar, where cash or check donations to Roots & Wings are always appreciated (checks made out to "South Presbyterian Church" with "Roots & Wings" in the note section). Let's have fun learning to grow food sustainably! For more information, please email Greg Rosen (the Manse Garden manager): forestfolk.ny@gmail.com
